In fulfillment of its goal to provide increased opportunity to access the arts through public and school events, citizens of Terrell County have formed the Arts & Education Alliance. Formation of such local associations is promoted by the Texas Commission on the Arts. Through their programs, the Arts Alliance has been able to provide free or affordable programs to Sanderson including live performances for student and public viewing and musicians for events such as Independence Day, Pachanga, and Cinco de Mayo festivals. The Arts Alliance is also active in sponsoring artistic youth events such as the sidewalk chalk drawings during the Pachanga Festival.
